Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is probably one of the most versatile plastics to have been developed for the most demanding applications.

Outstanding abrasion resistance over a considerable hardness range has found uses as varied as automotive and hydraulic seals to hydrolytic and bug resistance required for the coating of fabrics used for life jackets and inflatable boats.

Speciality grades are available, which are crystal clear and extremely resistant to yellowing under prolonged exposure to ultra-violet light. Some grades can be used without degradation in conditions of high radio-activity.
